AEW Announces Hangman Page And Thunder Rosa’s World Title Defenses

The opening matchup of last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw Christian Cage take on Adam Cole in a first-time-ever Singles bout, which Adam Cole walked out of as the winner after hitting the wrestling legend with his final boom running knee finisher. After the match, a brawl ensued between the AEW Tag Team Champions Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus and reDRagon (Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish) all the way out of the arena.

Adam Cole was then left alone in the middle of the ring and was soon joined by the AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page. Cole then explained that he has no intentions of fighting Hangman until he would defend his AEW World Title, something Cole feels like he has earned. Adam Page accepted the challenge without any hesitation, but made it perfectly clear that it won’t be a traditional Singles Match. The AEW World Champion then revealed that his AEW World Title will be on the line on the April 15 episode of AEW Rampage in a Texas Deathmatch.

It was also announced during last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite that the AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa will defend her newly-won AEW Women’s World Championship against Nyla Rose at the Battle of the Belts special event on Saturday, April 16. Rosa and Nyla have been at each other’s throats for weeks now and have been feuding since Thunder Rosa was interrupted by Nyla and Vickie Guerrero on AEW Dynamite several weeks ago and was laid out by The Native Beast.

As of this writing, this is the only match announced for All Elite Wrestling’s Battle Of The Belts II special, which is set to air on Saturday, April 16, but will be taped on Friday, April 15 prior to or immediately following the live episode of AEW Rampage on Friday, April 15th inside the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas. It is believed that Dark or Dark: Elevation matches will also be taped that night.
