AEW Dynamite Viewership Up For Wednesday Night’s Episode

Last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was able to draw a total of 575,000 viewers, while last Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite episode was able to draw a total of 941,000 viewers, according to Showbuzz Daily and Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.

This total is up 63.65% from last week’s episode of Saturday Night Dynamite, which drew a 0.40 rating in the 18-49 key demo, but down 10.63% from the last episode of Dynamite to air on a Wednesday night, which was the Second Anniversary episode on October 6th, which drew a total of 1.053 million viewers. In terms of total viewers, this past Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite drew the lowest audience for a Wednesday night show since July 7th.

Last Wednesday’s rating of 0.40 is up 81.81% from last week’s 0.22 rating in the 18-49 key demo. This is also up 8.10% from the last Dynamite to air on a Wednesday night, which was the Second Anniversary show on October 6th, which drew a 0.37 rating. Last Wednesday night’s rating of 0.40 in the 18-49 key demo represents around 518,000 total viewers that watched last Wednesday’s Dynamite episode from that demo. This is up 79.86% from last week’s 288,000 total viewers in the 18-49 key demo for the Saturday Night Dynamite episode and up 7.92% from the last Wednesday night show’s 480,000 total viewers in the 18-49 key demo.

Last Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured MJF battling Bryce Donovan in Singles action, CM Punk vs. Bobby Fish, Preston “10” Vance vs. Jon Moxley in an AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament Match, Serena Deeb vs. Hikaru Shida in an AEW TBS Title Tournament Match, Sammy Guevara defending his TNT Title against “All Ego” Ethan Page and Dark Order (John Silver, Colt Cabana, Stu Grayson and Evil Uno) battling The Elite (Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Adam Cole and AEW World Champion Kenny Omega) in an 8-Man Tag Team Match, which was the main event.

The viewership number of last Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite, which drew the lowest audience as well as the lowest key demo rating since the Road Rager episode last July 7th, was up 20.49% from the same week in 2020, which would compete against WWE NXT at the time, while the key 18-49 demo rating was up 25% from the same week in 2020.

Last Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite ranked #4 for the night on the Cable Top 150, with a 0.40 rating in the 18-49 key demo, which is up from last week’s #10 ranking and similar to the #4 ranking for the Second Anniversary episode of Dynamite. Last Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite ranked #34 in viewership for the night on cable, which is up from last week’s #40 ranking and down from the #29 ranking, which the promotion had for the Second Anniversary episode of AEW Dynamite. AEW had strong competition from the MLB World Series Game 2 as well as the NBA this past Wednesday night.
