Former Lucha Underground and IMPACT Wrestling Star Brian Cage made his AEW in-ring debut in a big way when he was revealed as the mystery participant in the Casino Ladder Match at the company’s Double or Nothing PPV Event in 2020. His in-ring debut would even be bigger as he came out of the Casino Ladder Match as the winner and would earn a shot at the AEW World Title, held by Jon Moxley at the time.
Brian Cage would unfortunately come out on the losing end against Moxley, but would still reach main-event status as on the July 2nd, 2020 episode of Dynamite, he was gifted the FTW Championship by Taz. In 2020, Cage defended the FTW Title twice and has so far defended the FTW Title once in 2021, but he is set to defend the FTW Title against Ricky Starks on Night 1 of Fyter Fest on July 14th.
Speaking of Brian Cage as the FTW Champion, he has recently reached a major milestone of becoming the FTW Champion for over a year now. As previously reported, Brian Cage made it perfectly clear that he is mad for not being on the Fyter Fest poster despite his FTW Championship Match against Ricky Starks being the only match announced.
