AEW Star Thunder Rosa Forced To Relinquish Her TJPW Title

NWA Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa, who recently made a number of appearances on Dark and Dynamite and even faced AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida at All Out, was forced to relinquish her Tokyo Joshi Pro International Princess (TJPW) Championship due to travel restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. She will not be able to defend her title for the promotion in Japan.

Thunder Rosa then told the new champion good luck and that when this is all over she will be coming back to whip her ass.

This is what Thunder Rosa said:

“This really sucks! Since I won the championship in January I was not able to defend it due to the #COVID19 Unable to travel I have to relinquish my title. good luck@to the next winner cause when all this is over I’m coming back to whip your ass.”

A number of fans on Twitter were then confused as to which championship title Thunder Rosa was referring to. Rosa then made it abundantly clear that she was referring to the Tokyo Joshi Pro International Princess Championship.

This is what Thunder Rosa said:

“This is in regards to the Tokyo Joshi Pro International Princess Champion.”

NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis would then take to Twitter and add that Rosa is referring to a Championship in Japan, not the NWA Women’s Title.

This is what Nick Aldis said:

“She’s referring to a Championship in Japan, not the NWA title folks. Further proof that a staggering number of fans on Twitter don’t read things in full before weighing in. SMH.”
