Arquette Talks Luke Perry Reacting To Jungle Boy’s Matches

David Arquette is one of the most controversial, polarizing and infamous Hollywood celebrities turned professional wrestler to ever make his way into the wrestling business and earn all the successes he has had from being crowned the WCW Champion to starring in his own movie called “Ready To Rumble.”

He recently spoke with Jim Alexander of ReelTalker.com, where he revealed that he wouldn’t have done pro wrestling if he hadn’t won the WCW Title in time to promote his movie “Ready to Rumble.”

This is what David Arquette said:

“I wouldn’t have ever done [pro wrestling] if I hadn’t gotten the title as a promotion at the time to promote my movie ‘Ready to Rumble.'” “[WCW] thought it was a good idea. If that didn’t happen, I probably wouldn’t have.”

David Arquette was criticized, insulted and thrown shots at for decades due to his controversial and shocking WCW Title win. David would then decide to become an active competitor in the Indie Scene for promotions such as Championship Wrestling from Hollywood and Border City Wrestling.

In 2018, he had a Death Match against one of the most violent and brutal wrestlers in the Indies in Nick Gage and David Arquette nearly died after being struck in the neck with a light tube.

According to Arquette, he definitely has things he would have probably done differently and that he’s learned from them, but he is proud that he was able to gain respect from the wrestling community.

This is what David Arquette said:

“I definitely have things I would probably done differently.” “More so, I’ve learned from them. You learn things, specifically in a death match – stick to the plan. That time period captured my life in a turning point.”

David Arquette and the late Luke Perry, father of AEW Star “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry, were really good friends and David Arquette talked about how terrified Luke Perry was of seeing his son, Jungle Boy in a wrestling ring.

Arquette then mentioned how incredible of a wrestler Jungle Boy is and that he is his biggest fan and he thinks Jungle Boy is going to be a movie star someday. Arquette also talked about how admirable Jungle Boy was in dealing with his father’s death, and just being able to watch him was really impressive.

This is what David Arquette said:

“We were really close, [Luke and I].” “He lived in our house when he got cast on 90210. I asked Luke what it was like watching [Jungleboy], ‘is it exciting’? ‘No, it’s terrifying. He’s my son.”

“Jack has got such a great head on his shoulders. He’s such a smart kind, incredible wrestler, he gets it. I’m there for him, his biggest fan. I just think the guy is going to be a movie star someday. The way he dealt with the death of his father was super admirable, and just being able to watch him was really impressive.”

Arquette then talked about wrestling being different now then it was when he was WCW Champion and how AEW and WWE are soon going to have a true Monday Night war at some point.

This is what David Arquette said:

“I think wrestling is the best when you find really great talent and allow them to shine.” “Show their strengths and have really interesting booking. There is tremendous talent out there if they allow them to be free. I love the wrestling subculture and how people talk about it and analyze it. It’s a really interesting time in wrestling. I think AEW and WWE are soon going to have a true Monday Night war at some point. It was funny to see MJF and Jericho do a musical number. Not necessarily bad – it was a fun change of pace.”
