Backstage News On AEW’s Brand-New Full-Time Signings

The main event of the October 14th episode of AEW Rampage saw The Pinnacle (Shawn Spears, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) battle The Embassy (Brian Cage, Kaun and Toa Liona) in Trios action and walk out of the match with a huge win. Immediately following the match, The Kingdom (Maria Kanellis, Mike Bennett and Matt Taven) made their way out and joined The Embassy in attacking FTR and Shawn Spears until the reigning ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe and the AEW TNT Champion Wardlow made their way down to the ring to make the save.

Maria Kanellis, Mike Bennett and Matt Taven’s AEW debut took place after IMPACT Wrestling’s latest TV Tapings following their Bound For Glory Event and even though they dropped the IMPACT Wrestling World Tag Team Titles to Heath and Rhino during the tapings, they were still considered as the IMPACT World Tag Team Champions when they made their AEW debut as the title change didn’t air until the October 20 episode of IMPACT Wrestling.

They weren’t signed to All Elite Wrestling when they made their debut on Rampage, but Fightful Select reports that all three members of The Kingdom have signed full-time, multi-year deals with AEW and it was mentioned on the report as well that FTR even pushed for The Kingdom to get involved somehow, but no other details were provided. Prior to The Kingdom signing full-time deals with AEW, there was some interest from the WWE in signing Matt Taven to a contract.
