All Elite Wrestling has had quite a number of their top stars suffer from an injury over the past few months, including AEW World Champion CM Punk, Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole. At AEW and NJPW’s recent Forbidden Door Event, Adam Cole competed in a 4-Way Match for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship between himself, IWGP Heavyweight Champion Jay White, Kazuchika Okada and “Hangman” Adam Page. It was reported that Cole suffered a concussion during the brutal 4-Way Match and he has not appeared on AEW TV since.
Britt Baker, Adam Cole’s long-time partner, recently had a conversation with Sportskeeda and provided an update on Cole’s medical condition as well as how long Cole will need in order to recover from his injury.
This is what Britt Baker said:
“He’s definitely recovering and healing. So I hope, just like everybody else, that we get to see him back in the wrestling ring soon, but he’s definitely going to have to take some time to recover.”
Britt Baker also spoke about being part of the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament and ultimately winning the tournament in the end.
This is what Britt Baker said:
“That’s still so surreal just to be a part of the tournament in general. I was like, ‘Wow, we get to do that? AEW gets to do that and I get to be a part of it.’ It still doesn’t seem real to me because it’s just such an important part of wrestling history that was put on pause for a second essentially. Now fast forwarding, we’re going to have this tournament every year, and to be the first one, it is really special. I hope that we do his name and his legacy proud and we continue to.”
Adam Cole is not only suffering from a concussion, but he also has a torn labrum, an injury Adam Cole had been dealing with for months even before the Forbidden Door PPV and he has also been dealing with several other injuries, dating back to when he took on “Hangman” Adam Page for the AEW World Title at AEW Revolution. Despite Cole suffering from a torn labrum, he has decided not to get surgery. He will instead undergo the rehabilitation process for his concussion and from there see when he can make his return to in-ring action.
