Top AEW Star “Le Champion” Chris Jericho has reportedly donated $2500 to the GoFundMe Campaign set up by the family of Mohammed Anwar, a 66-year old Uber Eats driver who was murdered this past Tuesday in Washington D.C.
A botched carjacking took place this past Tuesday in Washington D.C. involving two teenage girls, one of which is 13 years of age and the other is 15 years of age. The teenage girls used a Taser on Anwar in an attempt to steal his car and then drove off as Anwar held onto the driver’s side of the car. He was thrown to the sidewalk as the car flipped and Anwar met his death. Anwar was pronounced dead at a local hospital minutes later.
The GoFundMe Campaign’s initial goal was $100,000, but as of this writing, the donations have reached $1,031,820. The campaign now has up to 29,900 donors, with top AEW Star Chris Jericho tying with some other person for the second-highest donation, next to a $3,000 donation. When talking with TMZ, Chris Jericho told them that what happened was something out of a horror movie as mere children hit the gas and struck terror in Mohammed Anwar.
Jericho also said he just thought the whole situation was terrible and it really hit him hard and the donation he gave is not much, but it’s the most he could do to try and bring some light into the dark situation.
This is what Chris Jericho said:
“Just the feeling of terror he must’ve had being stuck halfway out of the car as the thieves … mere children … hit the gas. Something out of a horror movie.” “I just thought the whole situation was terrible and it really hit me hard.” “It’s not much, but it’s the most I could do to try and bring some light into a dark situation.”
According to a recent news report by FOX News, the two teenagers have been charged with felony murder and armed carjacking and that they are still in jail awaiting their next court appearance.
