AEW commentator and Senior Advisor “Good Ole’ J.R.” Jim Ross, who signed with the company in April of 2019, took to Twitter this past October and posted a photo of his ankle, while also revealing that he had been dealing with skin cancer issues for over a year now. The WWE Hall of Famer then confirmed he had to start doing 22 radiation treatments by the end of November, but that he doesn’t plan on taking any time off from AEW TV, though as soon as his radiation treatments began, he had been away from All Elite Wrestling.
The legendary “Good Ole’ J.R.” Jim Ross would then reveal before the end of 2021 that he had defeated cancer once again and that he is now cancer free. Despite Jim Ross already being cancer free, the AEW commentator still had to undergo radiation treatments until he is completely healed. “Good Ole’ J.R.”Jim Ross then revealed on his “Grilling JR” podcast after undergoing the radiation treatments as well as after his most recent doctor’s appointment that he has to return for a follow-up check up after 30 days, which is a good thing as he used to visit the doctor on a daily basis. The AEW commentator also said that his treatment used to be every other week, but it has now been scheduled to take place in a month’s time and despite his leg not being completely healed yet the doctor is extremely pleased with his healing as well as his progress and even though his ankle is still tender, he is doing better and there are less spots that are affected and it’s still going to be a few months until that spot on his ankle will be better as that is where all the new skin will being grown.
WWE Hall of Famer “Good Ole’ J.R.” Jim Ross took to a recent episode of his “Grilling JR” podcast and provided an update on his recovery from skin cancer after his latest visit to the oncologist. JR said after his latest visit to the oncologist he was very pleased with the progress of his cancer recovery and his next appointment has been scheduled to take place in six months just to check in. WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross also said the oncologist was very pleased with how his ankle was healing and that he’s still cancer free and he is only doing the follow-up check up after six months as a precaution and he doesn’t expect anything bad to appear in six months time, so he is happy about that.
This is what Jim Ross said:
“I had my return visit to the oncologist.” “He was very pleased with the progress of my cancer. My next appointment is in six months just to check in. He was very pleased with how this thing is healing.” “It’s still tender, but I’ve got new skin down there. My ankle is like a little baby’s ankle.”
“He said, ‘You’re still cancer free. You’re good enough that we can wait six months and then we’ll check you out.’ He said, ‘I’m doing that just as a precaution and I don’t expect anything bad to be there in six months’, so I’m happy about that.”
