According to Dave Meltzer on a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, one of All Elite Wrestling’s top stars Jon Moxley could possibly be returning to NJPW to work one of the two nights at next year’s Wrestle Kingdom 14 Event.
Meltzer said that if Jon Moxley was to return to NJPW and have a match at Wrestle Kingdom 14, then the most logical match for him is to challenge IWGP United States Champion Lance Archer for his IWGP United States Title. Since Moxley never lost the title when he was the champion. NJPW did recently set up a feud between Lance Archer and Juice Robinson at their recent show in San Jose, though a Triple Threat Match can be done.
Moxley had to relinquish The IWGP United States Title this past month as he wasn’t able to defend the title against Juice Robinson at The NJPW King Of Pro Wrestling Event. This was due to the unfortunate and severe bad weather brought by Typhoon Hagibis.
Wrestle Kingdom 14 is a two-day event and is set to take place on Saturday, January 4th as well as Sunday, January 5th, 2020 from the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan.
This is what Dave Meltzer said:
“It hasn’t been announced but the belief is Jon Moxley is working the Tokyo Dome. From those in AEW, they believe that to be the case but weren’t 100 percent on it.”
