Kenny Omega Hopes To Attend Show Same Week As Forbidden Door

“The Cleaner” Kenny Omega is recognized as one of, if not the greatest pro wrestler in the modern era and possibly even of all time. He has won championship gold in every promotion he has competed in and he was even one of the first signees in AEW as well as one of the most dominant World Champion in the history of All Elite Wrestling. Kenny Omega last competed for AEW at last November’s Full Gear Event, when he lost the AEW World Title to “Hangman” Adam Page and he has since been out of action as he has had injuries that needed to be surgically repaired and he needed to divert his attention on rehabbing those nagging injuries.

Dave Meltzer revealed on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Omega is currently recovering from an arthroscopic knee surgery, which will take about 10 weeks for him to fully recover. Not only is Kenny Omega recovering from the knee surgery, but he was also set to undergo a surgery to repair his sports hernia at the end of March and that will take him around two months to recover. Aside from the hernia surgery, Kenny Omega also has other issues he is planning to take care of before he finally makes his return to in-ring action.

Kenny Omega recently appeared on the “Put Your Quarters On The Glass!” podcast, where he talked about how he has been silent on social media as of late and how he has just been resting as well as healing from his injuries.

This is what Kenny Omega said:

“Lately I’ve been a little quiet [on social media].” “Just kinda resting, healing, all that stuff.”

Kenny Omega also talked about how he hopes to attend the 2022 CEO Fighting Game Championships in June and how he is going to do everything he can to make it a possibility, but it would take a lot of very strange scheduling or prior business commitments, most especially on the AEW side of things and if he can create an AEW games presentation, perhaps for their upcoming video game, then AEW could have some presence there as well.

This is what Kenny Omega said:

“We’re gonna try.” “It is – I would say things are in the works to make it doable. And it would take just very strange scheduling or prior business commitments on our side of things – the AEW side – which would forcefully pull me away.”

“But if I have the time, or if I can create something – an opportunity for AEW or an AEW game presentation perhaps? I don’t know. But I’d love to have a presence there and I’d love AEW to have a presence as well.”

The 2022 CEO Fighting Game Championships is set to take place the same weekend as the joint Forbidden Door Supershow of All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling and that could interfere with plans of having Kenny Omega compete on the Supershow as Forbidden Door will take place on Sunday, June 26th from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, while the 2022 CEO Fighting Game Championships is set to be held from June 24-26 in Daytona Beach, Florida.
