Kenny Omega Reportedly Set To Undergo Multiple Surgeries

As previously reported, top AEW Star Kenny Omega has been dealing with quite a number of injuries for the past several months, which is the reason why he was scheduled to get medically checked out on AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday night. Kenny Omega has reportedly been suffering from vertigo since 2018 and revealed in a past interview that while he is competing in the ring, things start to spin. It was also said that updates will be provided as soon as it is made available on if Omega will need to take some time off.

PWInsider.com then provided an update that Kenny Omega may be out of action for an extended period of time and that he more than likely needs to undergo shoulder surgery, but company officials are hoping to provide some clarity on Omega’s future and status sometime within this week. Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that due to several injuries Kenny Omega has been dealing with such as problems with his knee, shoulder, abdominal and hernia, and others, and has worked through them all, the top AEW Star is expected to undergo multiple surgeries, but the dates of those surgeries have yet to be determined.

Omega said during a backstage segment on Dynamite this past Wednesday that he needs to take some time away from AEW to fix some issues and he wants The Young Bucks to hold down the fort for their faction while he is away. This will be the first time in a long time Kenny Omega is taking time away from the squared circle in order to get healthy and back in shape and Meltzer noted a lot of rehabilitation is needed if or when Omega does undergo multiple surgeries at once.

There’s no word yet on when Kenny Omega will return to in-ring action as nothing is set in stone yet, but it was mentioned that the top AEW Star is hoping to return by February 2022, though Meltzer noted that February could be premature as Omega hasn’t even had any surgeries yet.

The main event of last Saturday night’s AEW Full Gear PPV saw Kenny Omega lose the AEW World Title to Hangman Page. Omega is still the reigning AAA Mega Champion and he is set to defend his title against El Hijo del Vikingo at AAA’s TripleMania Regia II Event on December 4. There is no word yet on if the top AEW Star will still be able to defend his title or if there will be any changes, but updates will be provided once it has been made available.
