NBA Legend Shaq To Appear On AEW Dynamite This Wednesday

After his appearance was teased by Jade Cargill a few weeks ago, AEW have announced that the legendary basketballer Shaquille O’Neal will appear on this week’s episode of Dynamite.

It was announced that Tony Schiavone would be conducting Shaq’s in-ring interview.

On the 12/10 episode of Dynamite, newcomer Jade Cargill interrupted a promo by Cody Rhodes and congratulated him on getting used to his surname (a reference to Cody now legally being able to use the Cody Rhodes name). Cargill then mentioned Shaq’s name, resulting in an altercation between her and Brandi Rhodes which stretched into the following week. The angle hasn’t been mentioned since.

Shaq’s involvement with AEW actually stretches back to August when he teased an appearance after signing a new contract with Warnermedia. Shaq mentioned that he’d love to have a match with Cody Rhodes.

“I’d love to fight Cody. Write it. Print it. Text it to him. Call AEW up and tell them.”

Furthermore, Shaq was seen backstage at the recent Full Gear PPV on episode 229 of Being The Elite.

Shaq has been a lifelong wrestling fan and has appeared for WCW and WWE in the past. The last time Shaq was in the wrestling spotlight was in 2017 when he was rumored for a Wrestlemania match against the Big Show. However, the match was canceled at the last minute.
