According to PWInsider.com, one of AEW’s most explosive and agile women in the roster Kris Statlander is currently suffering from a knee injury that she sustained during last week’s episode of Dynamite in a Women’s Division Tag Team Match.
The match saw her team up with AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida to take on the team of Penelope Ford and “The Native Beast” Nyla Rose. Penelope Ford and Nyla Rose come out of the match with a pinfall victory after Ford nailed Hikaru Shida with her title belt.
Kris Statlander reportedly sustained the injury went she hit a suicide dive on Kip Sabian, who was at ringside, and landed awkwardly on the floor on her knees.
Statlander has since took to Twitter and commented that she sustained a high grade tear in her ACL and she will be needing surgery. Statlander also said that she will be out of the ring for a while, but she didn’t give an exact time frame.

Since the news is out. I told you I’d dive on Kip again and dammit I did. But in doing so, I ended up with a high grade tear in my ACL. Yes I need surgery. Yes I’ll be out of the ring for a while. I’ll do my best to still show up on your TVs as much as I can. @AEWrestling 👽💚 https://t.co/oVS495nwok— Kris Statlander (@callmekrisstat) June 14, 2020
