Tony Khan Says There Are Real Issues Between CM Punk And Hangman Page

The opening segment of last week’s AEW Dynamite saw CM Punk make his way down to the ring and address the AEW fans after his return to AEW TV this previous week from an injury. Before addressing reigning Undisputed AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and building towards their Title Unification Matchup on last night’s AEW Dynamite episode, CM Punk called out “Hangman” Adam Page to face him in a rematch for the AEW World Championship and Punk would even have some harsh remarks for the former AEW World Champion.

Hangman Page did not make his way down to the ring and that would lead to Punk saying, “My sentiments exactly. Now onto the important things. That’s not cowboy shit, that’s coward shit.” Punk then spoke about Undisputed AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and their match was made official for last night’s AEW Dynamite episode after a brawl ensued between the two. Page did not make his way down to the ring due to that portion of the opening segment being unscripted and no one had a clue CM Punk was going to do what he did.

A number of reports would even indicate that what Punk said about Hangman was actually something that has a lot of truth to the issues they talked about each other several months back during the build to their match at AEW’s Double Or Nothing. AEW President and CEO Tony Khan appeared on Busted Open Radio and revealed that Punk has some unresolved anger towards Page, which he feels is from the World Title Match at Double Or Nothing.

This is what Tony Khan said:

“It’s unresolved anger, I think, from the World title match at Double or Nothing. We haven’t really tied up all those issues.” “There was clearly some stuff that didn’t get resolved at Double or Nothing.”
