Tony Khan is the AEW President and CEO. He runs the place in his own way and holds the authority to change the rules. The Boss has changed a rule and confirmed that there won’t be any releases from AEW. It doesn’t mean that people with misconduct will be appreciated, but the thumb rule says that there won’t be releases.
It comes after the rumours did the rounds that Malakai Black and Buddy Murphy have asked for a release. Black clarified the situation through his Instagram post, but the situation around Buddy Murphy still looms. There is no clarity on what will happen with him and if he is willing to jump ships with the regime change.
Dave Meltzer discussed this on the latest “Wrestling Observer Radio.” He mentioned that as the situation has had different stories so people are not clear on what has gone down and what shall be the outcome, but Khan has put a doctrine on the release part.
It’s clear that AEW has seen a shakeup after Triple H took charge. The Game has some of his favourites in AEW and he would approach them if they are looking for a change or are willing to work under him. Will this be the difference maker in AEW? Will AEW have a hard time with the new situation? We cannot affirm this moment.
