Top AEW Star Chris Jericho last appeared for the company on the December 1 Dynamite episode, where he was attacked backstage by 2point0 (Matt Lee and Jeff Parker) and Daniel Garcia as a way to remove him from AEW TV due to his band Fozzy’s 12-date “Save The World” tour in the United Kingdom. The Demo God and his band Fozzy was supposed to have a show later on tonight from the Swansea Sin City in Swansea, Wales, but the show was nixed due to the AEW Star being hospitalized because of a non-COVID-19 health issue that can reportedly be treated.
The venue where the show was supposed to take place posted a message from the band that Chris Jericho was checked into a hospital by doctors due to a non-COVID-19 related health issue, which can and will be treated, but regrettably the show in Swansea, Wales has been cancelled, though all tickets will be refunded. This past Tuesday night, Fozzy had a show in Bournemouth, England and was scheduled to wrap up the tour tomorrow in Nottingham and Sunday in London, but there is no word yet on if the shows are still going to push through or if it will be canceled.
There is also no word yet on what Jericho’s non-COVID-19 health issue really is as he has yet to make a comment, but the band did post a photo outside of the Hard Rock Cafe Oxford Street some time around 12NN ET, in which he appears fine. The AEW Star also posted the same photo on his Instagram account 3 hours later and was active on his Twitter just an hour prior to being hospitalized.
Chris Jericho last wrestled for AEW at the Full Gear PPV last November 13, when The Inner Circle beat Ethan Page, Scorpio Sky and American Top Team in a 10-Man Street Fight.
