Top AEW Star Sting Files To Trademark His “The Icon” Moniker

On Friday, May 13th, professional wrestling legend and top AEW Star Sting filed to trademark the term “The Icon” with the USPTO (the United States Patent and Trademark Office) for energy drinks purposes. Sting has been using the moniker “The Icon” for several years now and it has been a signature moniker of his since his WCW days. “The Icon” Sting had the trademark filing done through Michael E. Dockins, who has helped several AEW talents file their trademarks in the past as well. Sting had the trademark filed under his real name, Steve Borden.

Sting’s last match for All Elite Wrestling took place on the March 28 episode of AEW Dynamite when he teamed up with Darby Allin and The Hardys (Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy) to beat A.F.O.’s Isiah Kassidy, Marq Quen, The Blade and The Butcher in an 8-Man Tornado Tag Team Match.

Below is the use description submitted to the USPTO:

“G & S: Energy drinks; Energy drinks containing caffeine; Energy drinks enhanced with vitamins, minerals, or nutrients; Non-alcoholic drinks, namely, energy shots.”
