On the July 28th Fight For The Fallen episode of Dynamite, The Elite (AEW World Champion Kenny Omega, AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) and IMPACT Wrestling Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers (Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson)) took on Hangman Page and Dark Order in a 10-Man Elimination Tag Team Match, with the stipulation that if Hangman and The Dark Order wins, then Hangman Page earns a shot at Kenny Omega’s AEW World Title, while The Dark Order earns a shot at The Young Bucks’ AEW World Tag Team Titles, but unfortunately Hangman Page and The Dark Order came up short, which means they will not be able to challenge for the championship titles in their respective divisions.
According to reports, the plan was for Hangman Page to battle Kenny Omega for Omega’s AEW World Title at All Out, but that plan will no longer push through and Christian Cage has now been named as the #1 Contender for Kenny Omega’s AEW World Title at All Out.
During last week’s Homecoming episode of AEW Dynamite, Hangman Page made an appearance and apologized to The Dark Order for losing the 6-Man Tag Team Match. Page also said he needs to quit relying on The Dark Order to have his back, and that he needs to take a break from being their friend. Hangman would then leave, but was later attacked by The Elite. Hangman was being annihilated by The Elite until The Dark Order made their way out, but Evil Uno and Stu Grayson stopped the rest of The Dark Order before they could save Hangman because that is what he demanded earlier on in the episode. The segment would then end with a belt shot from Omega to the face of Page, while The Young Bucks held him up.
PWInsider.com reports that the plan always was for Hangman to take some time off, so that he could be with his family prior to his first child being born, which is the reason why he did not appear on AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday night. Hangman Page took to his Instagram last June and revealed that he and his wife Amanda are expecting their first child together. Since 2016, Hangman and Amanda has been married.
There is no word yet on when Hangman Page’s wife, Amanda, is expected to give birth or when Page will return to the storylines, but updates will be provided once it has been made available. Hangman isn’t currently advertised to appear at the AEW Fan Fest scheduled for All Out Week in early September, but he is featured on the poster of the September 22 Grand Slam episode of AEW Dynamite in New York City.
