Ratings for the Wednesday, July 1st, 2020 addition of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT were released Thursday. According to a report by Showbuzz Daily, AEW finishing 17th overall for the night, WWE NXT finished 26th.
AEW drew 748,000 viewers way up from last week’s 633,000 viewers. They finished 17th overall last week. Dynamite was live this week at Daily’s Place again in Jacksonville Florida. Night one of Fyter Fest.
Fyter Fest featured multiple championship matches but no belts changed hands.
NXT drew 792,000 viewers slightly up from last week’s 786,000 viewers. It finished 13th overall, up from last week’s 26th overall. The show featured NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai defeating Sasha Banks in a non-title match. WWE presented their Great American Bash. Again using main show talent on its third-tier show.
The total combined wrestling audience for both shows was up to 1.540 million viewers. It was at 1.419 million viewers last week. It looks like the NXT audience stayed steady, the AEW audience was way up. Both AEW Fyter Fest and WWE Great American Bash did well. Good for fans a pro wrestling.
Based on the ratings, Fox News dominated the top 5 with 3 shows. News accounted for 10 shows in the top 15. MTV’s Challenge: Total Madness was first for the night and the only non-news show in the top 5.
