AEW TV RATINGS: Dynamite Finishes 6th, NXT 28th, July 29th, 2020

Ratings for the Wednesday, July 29, 2020 addition of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT were released Thursday. According to a report by Showbuzz Daily, AEW finishing 6th overall for the night, WWE NXT finished 29th.

AEW drew 773,000 viewers down from last week’s 845,000 viewers. They finished 5th overall the last two weeks. Dynamite was live this week at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville Florida. Fans were hoping for another over 800,000 considering it was a live show but still great numbers.

NXT drew 707,000 viewers way up from last week’s 615,000 viewers. It finished 28th overall, up from last week’s 35th overall. The show featured Dexter Lumis defeating Timothy Thatcher & Finn Balor to advance to the North American Championship Ladder Match at TakeOver: XXX. Again needing to use main show talent in Balor to get some type of audience.

The total combined wrestling audience for both shows was up to 1.480 million viewers. It was at 1.460 million viewers last week. Finn Balor on NXT I am sure helped that number.

Based on the ratings, three news programs were in the top 5 shows. News accounted for only 5 shows in the top 15 this week, which is way down from the usual 8 or 9. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was first for the night. Married At First Sight on Lifetime took 5th.
