AEW Dark Results (08/18): Butcher/Blade/Lucha vs. Party/SCU

This week’s episode of AEW Dark opens up with Tony Schiavone, “The Human Suplex Machine” Taz and for the first time ever, Veda Scott, welcoming the fans to another edition of the show.

We then get the first match of the evening, which is a Singles Match between Kip Sabian vs. Michael Nakazawa.

The next match of the evening is a Tag Team Match between “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela and Sonny Kiss vs. Shawn Dean and Frank Stone.

We then get a short preview for the AEW World Title Match between AEW World Champion Jon Moxley vs. MJF at ALL OUT.

The next match of the evening is a Singles Match between Shawn Spears vs. Will Hobbs.

Shawn Spears def. Will Hobbs in a Singles Match. After the match, Shawn Spears continues his assault on Will Hobbs by whipping his injured leg into the ringpost. Tully Blanchard then slips Shawn Spears a metal spike, which he places in his glove and KOs Will Hobbs.

We then get a backstage promo from Ricky Starks. He says that Darby Allin destroyed his back with his skateboard and thumb tacks. Ricky Starks then declares that Allin cannot end him, but promises that he will smash Allin’s face off the ground.

The next match of the evening is a Tag Team Match between The Hybrid-2 (Angelico and Jack Evans vs. The Initiative (“The Librarian” Peter Avalon and Brandon Cutler).

We then get a house ad for AEW Heels narrated by AEW Chief Brand Officer Brandi Rhodes.

The next match of the evening is a Six-Man Tag Team Match between Dark Order (Colt Cabana, Alex Reynolds and John Silver) vs. Faboo Andre, Ryzin and D3.

The next match of the evening is a Singles Match between Ricky Starks vs. Lee Johnson.

The next match of the evening is a Tag Team Match between Proud ‘N’ Powerful (Santana and Ortiz) vs. Tony Donati and Baron Black.

The next match of the evening is a 2-on-1 Handicap Match between Lance Archer vs. Jon Cruz and Jessie Sorensen.

The next match of the evening is a Singles Match between Billy Gunn vs. Dark Order’s Alan “5” Angels.

Billy Gunn def. Dark Order’s Alan “5” Angels in a Singles Match. After the match, as Billy Gunn celebrates, Dark Order jumps him from behind and stomps him down. Austin Gunn grabs a chair and chases them off, perhaps setting up a future tag team match.

The featured match of this week’s episode of AEW Dark between The Butcher, The Blade and The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix) vs. SCU (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) and Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen) in an 8-Man Tag Team Match is next.
