This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite opens up with a promo from Jake “The Snake” Roberts.

He starts by sitting down in a chair and saying, “My history will not be my destiny.” Jake Roberts then asks if someone steps in the ring, would think they have a prayer against Lance Archer. Roberts then says that if someone does, they are done. Roberts then says that we saw what happened to Marko Stunt last week and calls him an idiot for trying. Jake Roberts then tells Cody to not let tonight’s match against Shawn Spears slip, so that he doesn’t have to face Archer. Roberts then says, “Cody, are you a man or a mouse?”

We then see a number of AEW Stars at ringside including Gunn Club (Billy Gunn and Austin Gunn), Sammy Guevara, Jack Evans, Anna Jay, Jimmy Havoc and a few others.

Omega then responds that he will think about it. Orange Cassidy then comes in randomly from a different room. Trent and Chuck Taylor then walk in and say that they heard everything and don’t appreciate the two trying to take their name and livelihood. Trent and Chuck Taylor then says that whoever wins the match, gets the name. They leave and Omega says that he is getting too old for this shit.
