Ratings for the Wednesday, January 6th, 2020 edition of AEW Dynamite were released today. According to a report by Showbuzz Daily, AEW finishing 48th overall for the night. We all know the reason why. Let’s just say it had to do with a WWE Hall Of Fame person and his own personal Dark Order.
Dynamite drew 662,000 viewers way down from last week’s 977,000 viewers. They finished 4th overall last week. Dynamite was live this week at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville Florida. The show was the special New Years Smash Night #1. It featured Kenny Omega vs. Rey Fenix Championship match.
NXT drew 641,000 viewers up from last week’s 586,000 viewers. It finished 68th overall, last week they finished 58th. The show featured Kyle O’Reilly vs. Finn Bálor for the NXT Championship.
The total combined wrestling audience for both shows was down to 1.303million viewers. It was at 1.563 million total viewers last week.
Based on the ratings, it was CNN biggest news night ever. Not surprisingly news programming took all 15 spots, CNN taking 11 of them. MSNBC had 3 with Fox News in at #15.
The top-rated non-news show was ESPN’s NBA game at 10 pm, which came in #33. MTV’s Challenge Double Agent came in at #34 and ESPN’s NBA game at 8 pm came in at #44. AEW Dynamite was next.
In the 50 + demo AEW was 0.27, which was down from last week.
