RATINGS: AEW Dynamite Finishes 7th Overall, NXT Finishes 53th

Ratings for the Wednesday, May 20th, 2020 addition of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT were released Thursday. According to a report by Showbuzz Daily, AEW crushed NXT to finish 7th overall for the night. WWE NXT finished 53rd for the night.

AEW drew 701,000 viewers way up from last week’s 654,000 viewers. They finished 15th overall last week. This was back to a live show that that took place at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville Florida. This week’s show is the go-home show for Double Or Nothing this Saturday on PPV.

Dynamite featured a singles match between Matt Hardy vs. Sammy Guevara. Which ended with the return of The Young Bucks and “Hangman” Adam Page.

NXT drew 592,000 viewers down from last week’s 604,000 viewers. It finished 53rd overall, down from last week’s 46th overall.

The total combined wrestling audience for both shows was up from last week to 1.293 million viewers. It was at 1.258 million viewers last week. It seems like fans are interested in the live shows and wanted to see the AEW show before the PPV.

Based on the ratings, people were getting out of the news cycle again. Only five of the top 15 shows were news related.

Viewers 18-49 – AEW: 0.26 / NXT: 0.13
Female viewers 18-49 – AEW: 0.21
Male viewers 18-49 – AEW: 0.31
Viewers 18-34 – AEW: 0.12
Female viewers 12-34 – AEW: 0.12
Male viewers 12-34 – AEW: 0.11
Viewers 25-54 – AEW: 0.31
Viewers 50+ – AEW: 0.28
