RATINGS: AEW Dynamite Finishes 4th Overall, NXT Finishes 24th

Ratings for the Wednesday, May 27th, 2020 addition of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT were released Thursday. According to a report by Showbuzz Daily, AEW had a big night on cable TV finishing 4th overall for the night. WWE NXT also did well-finishing 24th for the night.

AEW drew 827,000 viewers way up from last week’s 701,000 viewers. They finished 7th overall last week. Dynamite was live this week taking place at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville Florida. This was the first show post Double Or Nothing on Saturday. Always new wrestlers and storylines take place after a PPV. This is AEW’s highest rating since March 18th of 932,000.

Dynamite featured a confrontation between ‘Iron ‘ Mike Tyson and Chris Jericho. Also the Dynamite debut of Brian Cage and FTR.

NXT drew 731,000 viewers way up from last week’s 592,000 viewers. It finished 24th overall, way up from last week’s 53rd overall. this is NXT’s highest rating since Feb 19th at 794,000.

The total combined wrestling audience for both shows was way up from last week to 1.558 million viewers. It was at 1.293 million viewers last week. It seems like fans were interested in the live shows and wanted to see the fallout from AEW Double Or Nothing and Kurt Angle referee a match on NXT.

Based on the ratings, people were still out of the news cycle. Only five of the top 15 shows were news-related and none of them were in the top 5.

Viewers 18-49 – AEW: 0.32 / NXT: 0.19
Female viewers 18-49 – AEW: 0.24
Male viewers 18-49 – AEW: 0.40
Viewers 18-34 – AEW: 0.17
Female viewers 12-34 – AEW: 0.11
Male viewers 12-34 – AEW: 0.19
Viewers 25-54 – AEW: 0.39
Viewers 50+ – AEW: 0.30
