Adam Copeland’s Departure from WWE to AEW: Reactions from Booker T and Triple H

The pro-wrestling world was filled with shock and awe as Adam Copeland, more popularly known as Edge, made his unexpected departure from WWE and debuted in AEW at the WrestleDream event in October 2023. This unforeseen transfer has stirred up some noteworthy reactions from personalities within the industry.

During the press conference held following WWE Fastlane, one of the industry’s most notable voices, Triple H, openly shared his thoughts on Copeland’s move. Affirming that there’s no lingering animosity, he wished Copeland the best in his future endeavors.

Meanwhile, on his acclaimed Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T, another significant figure in the world of pro-wrestling, gave his unique perspective on Copeland’s departure. Booker T expressed understanding towards Edge’s decision, citing, “You want to finish it the way you do and being able to finish it with Christian Cage…I get it, man.”

Booker T further expressed his empathy, referring to his own wish to have concluded his in-ring career alongside his long-term colleague Stevie Ray. Thus, he clearly comprehends why Copeland desired a “final run” with Christian Cage, given their long-standing friendship and significant mutual impact on each other’s wrestling careers.

The Copeland-Christian Cage reunion has already generated significant buzz, reflected in the high viewership figures on YouTube since the demanded video was aired on October 5. This move has seemed to reignite the audiences’ interest in their long-shared professional wrestling journey.

Kurt Angle, another wrestling veteran, commented favorably on Copeland’s transition to AEW, labeling it a “good thing.” He highlighted how it opens opportunities for Copeland to engage with a plethora of wrestlers he hasn’t faced before, thereby expanding his wrestling horizons even further.
