AEW And NJPW’s Forbidden Door To Air In Select Theaters

It was recently announced by AEW that their upcoming Forbidden Door PPV Event with NJPW is set to air in select theaters across North America this Sunday, June 26th, starting at 7PM ET. AEW has partnered with Joe Hand Promotions to air Forbidden Door in select theaters all across North America, including Cinemark, AMC, Emagine Entertainment, Marcus Theaters and others. Fans will be able to locate a movie theater airing Forbidden Door by checking out Joe Hand Promotions’ website at JoeHandPromotions.com.

This is not the first time that AEW partnered with Joe Hand Promotions to screen a PPV as in March of 2021, All Elite Wrestling, in partnership with Joe Hand Promotions, aired the Revolution PPV Event in select Cinemark theaters and in May of 2021, the company aired their Double Or Nothing PPV Event also in select Cinemark theaters. AEW also partnered with Joe Hand Promotions to air the All Out PPV Event this past September, their Full Gear PPV Event this past November, the Revolution PPV Event this past March and the Double Or Nothing PPV Event this past May.

AEW AND NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING’S “FORBIDDEN DOOR” PPV AVAILABLE IN SELECT THEATERS ON SUNDAY, JUNE 26

June 21, 2022 — The highly anticipated “AEW x New Japan Pro Wrestling: Forbidden Door” pay per-view will be available in select theaters across North America on Sunday, June 26, beginning at 7 p.m. ET, as a result of a partnership between AEW and Joe Hand Promotions.

Emanating live from the United Center in Chicago, IL, fans can catch visit select theatres to enjoy matchups between the best and brightest AEW and NJPW stars, with championship bouts and major matches including:

AEW Interim World Championship: Jon Moxley vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi

IWGP World Heavyweight Championship: Jay White (c) vs. TBD

AEW All-Atlantic Championship: Four-way match featuring Pac, Miro, Tomohiro Ishii, and winner of Malakai Black vs. Penta Oscuro

IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship: Will Ospreay (c) vs. Orange Cassidy

AEW Women’s World Championship: Thunder Rosa (c) vs. Toni Storm

Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship and IWGP Tag Team Championship Winner Takes All: FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) vs. United Empire (Great-O-Khan and Jeff Cobb) vs. Roppongi Vice (Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero)

Trios Match: Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara and Minoru Suzuki vs. Eddie Kingston, Wheeler Yuta and Shota Umino
