One Big Thing
AEW Women’s World Champion, Timeless Toni Storm, made a surprise appearance at STARDOM’s American Dream 2024 event, signaling a growing trend of cross-promotional activities in professional wrestling.
Key Highlights
- Despite AEW’s limited participation in other promotions’ events during WrestleMania weekend, Toni Storm’s appearance at STARDOM signifies a shift towards more collaborative relationships.
- The event, held on April 4 in Philadelphia, featured Storm giving flowers to AEW star Mariah May, causing tension with May’s STARDOM tag team partner Mina Shirakawa.
- Other notable wrestlers such as Willow Nightingale (AEW) and Stephanie Vaquer (NJPW STRONG and CMLL) also competed at the event.
- Storm is scheduled to defend her AEW Women’s World Championship against Thunder Rosa on April 21 at AEW Dynasty.
Why It Matters
This surprise appearance by an AEW champion at a STARDOM event exemplifies the evolving landscape of professional wrestling, where promotions are increasingly collaborating for the benefit of fans and talent alike.
