AEW Double Or Nothing Breaks Largest Non-WWE Gate Record

Despite the fact that the 2022 AEW Double Or Nothing Event is still about two months away from taking place, the promotion has already broken the all-time record for the largest gate in North America for any pro wrestling promotion other than the WWE. Dave Meltzer mentioned on a recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter that 12,939 tickets have already been sold for AEW’s Double Or Nothing Event and the total gate of the show as of Saturday, March 19th was at $1.145 million, with only 585 tickets remaining to be sold.

Dave Meltzer also noted that the previous record for the largest non-WWE gate in history was the 2019 NJPW/ROH G1 Supercard Event at Madison Square Garden in New York City in April 2019, which reportedly had a total gate of $1.1 million and that the only other show in history to get a total of $1 million in gate revenue was the Atlantis vs. Ultimo Guerrero Mask vs. Mask Match at the 2014 CMLL Anniversary Show at Arena Mexico.

The 2022 AEW Double or Nothing PPV Event is set to take place on Sunday, May 29 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
