Last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was able to draw a total of 948,000 viewers, while last Wednesday night’s Holiday Bash AEW Dynamite episode was able to draw a total of 1.020 million viewers, Showbuzz Daily and Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics reports.
This total is up 7.59% from last week’s AEW Dynamite, which drew a 0.37 rating in the 18-49 key demo. This past Wednesday night’s rating of 0.37 is up 19.35% from last week’s 0.31 rating in the key 18-49 demo. Last Wednesday’s 0.37 rating in the 18-49 key demo represents around 480,000 total viewers that watched last Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite episode from that demo. This is up 20.6% from last week’s 398,000 total viewers in the 18-49 key demo.
This past Wednesday night’s live Holiday Bash episode of AEW Dynamite from the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina featured Adam Cole vs. Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly making his AEW debut, Ruby Soho vs. Nyla Rose in an AEW TBS Championship Tournament Semi-Final Matchup, Malakai Black going up against Griff Garrison in a one-on-one match, a Christmas party segment with the AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and Tony Schiavone and a huge Trios Match between CM Punk, Sting and Darby Allin vs. MJF and AAA Tag Team Champions FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood), which was the main event.
The viewership number of this past Wednesday night’s Holiday Bash episode of AEW Dynamite, which drew the best viewership since the Second Anniversary show on October 6 and the best key demo rating since October 27, was up 31.61% from the same week in 2020, which didn’t compete against WWE’s NXT in head-to-head battle at the time, while the key 18-49 demo rating was up 15.62% from the same week in 2020.
This is the first time AEW Dynamite’s viewership has reached 1 million viewers since the show started to air live on the West Coast on October 27 and the first time the show broke 1 million viewers since the Second Anniversary show on October 6, which drew 1.053 million viewers.
Last Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite ranked #2 for the night on the Cable Top 150, with a 0.37 rating in the 18-49 key demo, which is up from last week’s #5 ranking. Last Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite episode ranked #26 in viewership for the night on cable, which is up from last week’s #31 ranking.

Dynamite ranked #2 on the day among cable originals in P18-49, behind college football on ESPN. Dynamite ranked #6 when included broadcast primetime.
Raw was ahead of Dynamite in P18-49 by 3% (495,000 to Dynamite's 480,000 viewers) this week, a difference of 0.01 in the national rating for the demo.
