AEW Dynamite Viewership Up Big For Wednesday Night Episode

Last week’s episode of Dynamite, which was the promotion’s first time to hold the show on a Saturday, was able to draw a total of 649,000 viewers, while this past Wednesday night’s episode, which was the promotion’s return to hold the show on a Wednesday night in over a month, was able to draw a total of 883,000 viewers, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.

This total is up 36% from last week’s episode, which drew a 0.35 rating in the 18-49 key demographic. This rating is up 66.7% from last week’s rating of 0.21. The 0.35 rating in the 18-49 key demographic represents around 452,000 total viewers who watched the show from that demo.

Last Wednesday night’s episode of Dynamite featured AEW TNT Champion Miro defending his AEW TNT Title against Brian Pillman Jr., Chris Jericho’s return to commentary and MJF vs. Sammy Guevara in the main event. The show marked the company’s return to Wednesday nights after airing on Fridays and Saturdays for a number of weeks due to the NBA Playoffs.

The viewership number of last Wednesday’s Dynamite episode, which drew the best 18-49 key demo rating since the Blood And Guts special episode on May 5th, was up 18% from the same week in 2020, which was going head-to-head against WWE NXT at the time, while the 18-49 key demo rating was up 20.7% from the same week in 2020.
