Last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was able to draw a total of 861,000 viewers, while last Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite episode was able to draw a total of 872,000 viewers, reports Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.
This total is up 1.28% from last week’s AEW Dynamite, which drew a 0.33 rating in the 18-49 key demo. Last Wednesday night’s rating of 0.33 is up 6.45% from last week’s 0.31 rating in the key 18-49 demo. Last Wednesday night’s 0.33 rating in the 18-49 key demo represents around 430,000 total viewers that watched last Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite from that demo. This is up 5.91% from last week’s 406,000 total viewers in the 18-49 key demo.
Last Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale, The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) battling Rocky Romero and Chuck Taylor in Tag Team action, Riho facing Jamie Hayter in Women’s Division Singles action, The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) and 2point0 (Matt Lee and Jeff Parker) going up against the team of The Varsity Blonds (Brian Pillman Jr. and Griff Garrison) and Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus) in a massive 8-Man Tag Team Match and Bryan Danielson vs. John Silver, which was the main event.
The viewership number of this past Wednesday night’s episode of Dynamite, which drew the third-lowest audience on a Wednesday night since live fans have returned and which key demographic rating has tied with two other episodes for the second-lowest key demo rating since live fans have returned, was down 12.36% from the same week in 2020, which competed against WWE’s NXT brand in head-to-head competition at the time, while the key 18-49 demo rating was down 27% from the same week in 2020.
This was a rare week once again, where the Dynamite audience and the key demo rating were down in the exact same week last year. The episode of AEW Dynamite from the same week in 2020 featured “The Icon” Sting’s first-ever AEW interview as well as a sitdown interview with NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal. The viewership of AEW Dynamite hasn’t reached 1 million viewers since the show started airing live on the West Coast on October 27th.
Last Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite ranked #5 for the night on the Cable Top 150, with a 0.33 rating in the 18-49 key demo, which is down from last week’s #3 ranking. Last Wednesday night’s episode of Dynamite ranked #36 in viewership for the night on cable, which is up from last week’s #40 ranking.
