AEW Planning To Run On-Location Shows Like WCW

It was discussed in a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that, in the long run, AEW plans to run shows from different and unique locations just like WCW did in old days. This will all start during Chris Jericho’s Rock n’ Wrestling Rager At Sea Cruise as the wrestling experience as well as its approach to fans will totally be extraordinary.

According to Dave Meltzer, he spoke with Tony Khan and Khan mentioned that they plan on doing on-location shows just like Nitro used to do. Khan also said that they don’t want the shows to look the same each and every Wednesday nights.

This is what Dave Meltzer said:

“I’ve talked to Tony Khan and one of the ideas that he and I talked about was on-location shows. Like Nitro used to do. He’s a big fan of that and I’m a big fan of that. You don’t want it to look like every fricken Wednesday is exactly the same. You know like the Spring Break show and I don’t wanna say Mall Of America show — because I don’t know about that one, but those destination shows. I expect them to do that.”

Dave Meltzer also discussed some of the issues AEW may be facing if they continue to run shows from a ship, but one solution that he mentioned is that AEW could tape the shows a few hours in advance so that if a problem or issue does arise, they can edit it out before the show airs.

It is very interesting and exciting what AEW has planned for the future, but only time will tell if any of this comes to fruition or what other ideas AEW has for the future of pro wrestling.
