AEW Rampage Preview: High-Stakes Matches Ahead of Double or Nothing 2024

One Big Thing

AEW Rampage returns to Friday night on TNT, featuring high-stakes matches just two days before the Double or Nothing 2024 pay-per-view. The show will showcase a tag team main event, intense one-on-one battles, and the return of Samoa Joe.

Tag Team Main Event

TBS Champion Willow Nightingale & Kris Statlander vs. Alex Windsor & Anna Jay

TBS Champion Willow Nightingale teams up with her best friend, former TBS Champion Kris Statlander, to face Anna Jay and the debuting Alex Windsor. Nightingale aims to prove herself ahead of her title defense at Double or Nothing 2024, while Windsor, a seasoned veteran trained by Saraya’s family, looks to make an impact in her first AEW match.

One-on-One Battles

“The Bastard” PAC vs. Rocky “Azucar” Romero

Former AEW All-Atlantic Champion PAC squares off against Rocky Romero in a singles match. The two last faced each other in 2012 during the NJPW Best of the Super Juniors XIX tournament, with PAC emerging victorious. Romero, currently on a losing streak, aims to turn his fortunes around against a rage-driven PAC.

“El Toro Blanco” RUSH vs. Isiah Kassidy

Isiah Kassidy, motivated to improve after his recent matches, faces the formidable “El Toro Blanco” RUSH. The 2-time former ROH World Champion, known for his hard-hitting style, has made a strong impression since his return to action. Kassidy’s determination, however, could lead to an unexpectedly competitive bout.

Return of the Champ

Former AEW World Champion Samoa Joe returns to action on Rampage, with his opponent yet to be announced. After sharing thoughts with HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata last week, Joe is ready to make a statement in the ring.

Why It Matters

The matches on this episode of Rampage carry significant weight as the wrestlers seek to gain momentum and prove themselves ahead of Double or Nothing 2024. The outcomes could have implications for title contention, personal rivalries, and the overall dynamics within the AEW roster.

Don’t miss AEW Rampage this Friday at 6:30 pm ET/5:30 pm CT on TNT, followed by the Countdown to Double or Nothing 2024 special. Stay tuned to AEW’s official YouTube channel and social media platforms for highlights and the latest edition of the Control Center.
