One of the matches featured during the premiere episode of AEW Rampage this past Friday saw Fuego Del Sol challenge AEW TNT Champion Miro for his AEW TNT Title, with the stipulation that if Fuego Del Sol wins the match not only does he become the new AEW TNT Champion, but he also earn a contract with All Elite Wrestling.
Fuego Del Sol started the match with a lot of momentum and he was even close in winning the title and earning an AEW contract, but AEW TNT Champion Miro ended up countering a move from the top rope after Fuego hit him with three consecutive DDTs, then Miro hit Del Sol with a Samoan Drop and locked in his Accolade submission for the tap and the win. Due to the stipulation, Fuego Del Sol lost his chance to earn an AEW contract and immediately after the match, Miro tore up Fuego’s AEW contract.
Shortly after, AEW President Tony Khan and Sammy Guevara made their way out and Khan handed Guevara a clipboard with some documents on it. Guevara then made his way down to the ring and handed Fuego, his real-life best friend, an AEW contract and said due to his commitment to All Elite Wrestling over the past year and his popularity with the fans, he is now being given a contract and he is now all elite.
