AEW Star Becomes Interim DEFY World Champion At A DEFY Event

At a recent DEFY Wrestling Event called Dark Horse, All Elite Wrestling Star Christopher Daniels took on top Indie Star Brody King, who as teased by fellow AEW Star Malakai Black signed with the company, and defeated him to become the brand-new interim DEFY World Heavyweight Champion. Randy Myers, who is the current DEFY Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion, is based in Canada and is reportedly unable to defend his title on a regular basis due to the ongoing pandemic, which is why an interim champion was determined, but it is likely that Christopher Daniels and Randy Myers will have a match once Myers is back in the U.S. to determine the undisputed DEFY World Heavyweight Champion.

A few other AEW Stars were featured at DEFY Wrestling’s Dark Horse Event as well, including Lio Rush, who faced Carlos Romo in Singles action and Eddie Kingston, who battled Schaff in a Street Fight.

Christopher Daniels last competed for All Elite Wrestling on the May 12 episode of AEW Dynamite, when he and Frankie Kazarian loss to then-AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks in a Tag Team Match and was forced to split up. Daniels has since competed in promotions such as DEFY Wrestling, NJPW and IMPACT Wrestling. There is no word yet on when Christopher Daniels will make his return to AEW, if he does, but updates will be provided once it has been made available.
