AEW Star Darius Martin is recognized as one of the best high-flyers and one of the most agile talents in not only AEW, but in all of pro wrestling, alongside his brother and fellow AEW Star Dante Martin, unfortunately Darius Martin has spent majority of his AEW career on the shelf as he sustained a major knee injury, which he is currently working his way back from. Darius recently appeared on the One-On-One podcast with Jon Alba, where he spoke about how frustrating it is to be injured and not medically cleared to compete, but he is thankful and fortunate to be in AEW during the time that it happened as he has been having great support and love from the company.
This is what Darius Martin said:
“It’s definitely frustrating.” “Obviously, you never want injuries but honestly, I’m thankful that it came at a time when I’m fortunate enough to have this deal with AEW. AEW’s been great to me during it and I really feel all the love and support from them. I’ve been fortunate enough to have that at least.”
Darius Martin also provided an update on his recovery from the major knee injury he suffered and said he is feeling good and trying to get cleared to return to the ring, but in the meantime, AEW has been paying him still and he still travels with the rest of the AEW roster from one city to the other.
This is what Darius Martin said:
“I’m still on the road.” “They’ve still been paying me. I’m still lucky enough to have that job and financial security because of AEW. It’s just a great place. Tony Khan is an amazing boss who really values his employees and treats us as human beings. I’m sure you’ve heard it said a lot but Tony’s just the best.”
Darius Martin then talked about how his brother Dante Martin has been living up to his potential from day one, which he knew his brother had and that his has been the highlight of this entire thing.
This is what Darius Martin said:
“Honestly, that’s been the highlight of this whole point. Obviously, mentally injuries kinda take a toll but the best part has been seeing Dante living up to the potential that I know he’s had because Dante has been mind-blowing since day one and I’ve lucky enough to see him grow into this but it’s really cool to see the rest of the world get to see it.”
