AEW Star Eddie Kingston Suffers Legitimate Injury at NJPW Resurgenc

Eddie Kingston, the defending NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion, suffered a legitimate injury during his Last Man Standing match against Gabe Kidd at NJPW Resurgence on May 11.

What Happened

  • During the closing stages of the title bout, Kingston took a suplex from Kidd from the ring apron through a table.
  • On the way down to the floor, Kingston’s legs landed on the barricade, with the 2023 Continental Classic winner favoring his right leg after the spot.
  • According to Fightful Select, Kingston was battling a “legit” injury following the match, although the extent and nature of the injury have not yet been confirmed.
  • Kingston reportedly needed assistance after the match and had a “bad limp” backstage afterwards.
