In the world of wrestling news, there’s an inspiring story evolving about AEW star Kyle O’Reilly. Known for captivating the audience with his high octane moves, this wrestling star has been out of action since June 2022 due to a complex neck fusion surgery he underwent in September 2022.
O’Reilly gave his fans an insight into his challenging journey to recovery via an Instagram post. He revealed an unexpected turn of events post his surgery, where he experienced a rare complication known as C5 Palsy, rendering his right arm immobile, and affecting his day-to-day activities severely.
“My career wasn’t in question any longer, it was my quality of life,” said O’Reilly, underlining the gravity of his condition. This setback, although disheartening, didn’t deter his spirit. He kept his focus on the things he could control, such as being an attentive father and diligently following his rehabilitation routine.
A key game-changer in his road to recovery was the introduction of a Neubie device, which uses direct electric currents similar to the human nervous system. Specializing in aiding post-surgical neurological injuries, this device helped O’Reilly gain a full range of motion in his shoulder within a month of usage.
“My nerves are all online again and firing with enough power to get the dinosaurs back in their pens,” expressed the wrestling star with regained optimism. He’s now inching closer to his ultimate goal — his much-awaited return to the ring, which for him is as enriching as reaching an oasis in a desert.
O’Reilly’s last appearance in the AEW ring was against Jon Moxley in the June 8, 2022, episode of Dynamite. As he tirelessly works towards his comeback, we at WrestleTalk join his legions of fans in wishing him a safe and robust recovery.
