AEW Star Reportedly Injured Before Revolution, Denies Report

Prior to the AEW Women’s World Championship Match at tonight’s Revolution PPV between the AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and Thunder Rosa, the two top AEW Stars were involved in a big Women’s Division Tag Team Match on last Wednesday night’s AEW Revolution go-home episode of Dynamite, where Thunder Rosa and Mercedes Martinez got a huge victory over AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and Jamie Hayter, when Baker was pinned by Thunder Rosa. Baker’s loss on Dynamite marks her first-ever pinfall loss since competing in a Lights Out Match against Thunder Rosa in May of 2021 on the St. Patrick’s Day Slam edition of the show.

Dave Meltzer mentioned on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Thunder Rosa was legitimately injured during the Tag Team Match on Dynamite and even though the details of her injury, or the severity of her injury was not disclosed, the report states that Rosa will still challenge the AEW Women’s World Champion for her championship at Revolution.

It is interesting to note that Rosa’s left leg was heavily taped up going into the match on Dynamite, leading to speculation that she may have a possible hamstring or thigh injury, but Fightful has noted that they reached out to Thunder Rosa and other AEW sources who have said that she is not injured and that the match at Revolution will still continue as planned.
