AEW Stars To Compete At NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 Event

All Elite Wrestling and NJPW are set to have another huge PPV Event with talents from both promotions competing against one another. The two promotions have had a working relationship for quite some time now and they held their first-ever crossover Event known as Forbidden Door in June. According to Dave Meltzer on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program, there has been plans for certain AEW talents to compete at next year’s NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 Event, but there’s no word yet on which AEW talents will be on the show.

This is what Dave Meltzer said:

“I don’t know how many, but I have, in fact, been told of certain plans for AEW wrestlers on Wrestle Kingdom…..There are plans for certain AEW guys to be at the Tokyo Dome show.”

There have been speculations that reigning IWGP Heavyweight, AAA and ROH World Tag Team Champions FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) will be two of the many AEW Stars who will compete at WK17, especially if they are still the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions by then. It is interesting to note that the NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 Event is set to take place on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023, which is the same night that AEW will be holding their weekly episode of AEW Dynamite and taping an episode of Rampage, meaning a number of AEW talents won’t be appearing on AEW TV that week.
