AEW To Announce Weekly TNT Series Name, Not Focusing On WWE

The 2019 Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour recently took place in Los Angeles and All Elite Wrestling had some representation on the show courtesy of Cody Rhodes, Brandi Rhodes, Awesome Kong, Nyla Rose, and Jungle Boy, according to Eric Goldman. It was the same day as the official announcement of the AEW weekly show on TNT.

Representatives from All Elite Wrestling were asked what the name of their weekly show on TNT which will be premiering on Wednesday, October 2nd from 8-10PM ET. It was noted that the final name will likely be decided or determined in the next week or so. It was previously reported that the show is believed to be called “Wednesday Night Dynamite” as that was one of the terms the company recently trademarked.

Cody Rhodes then said that their “more bloody content” will likely be used only during big events and PPV Events, not on their weekly TNT Show. Cody also said that they will not be focusing on WWE.

This is what Cody Rhodes said: “The thing we have to do is not focus on WWE. The thing we’re providing is very different. WWE coins themselves ‘sports entertainment.’ We coin ourselves ‘pro wrestling.’ I don’t think the shows will look or sound like one another.”

Brandi Rhodes then talked about what AEW is looking for when it comes to their talents. She also talked about the diversity in their performers and how important the well-being of their wrestlers is to them.

Awesome Kong and Jungle Boy also said a few words regarding AEW. Kong said that she feels her voice matters in the company and that she is being heard while Jungle Boy said that he loves how everyone in the company shares their ideas and gives them advice.
