AEW’s Matt Hardy Sheds Light On His Injury Status

Pro wrestling legend and top AEW Star Matt Hardy competed at AAA’s TripleMania XXX: Tijuana PPV Event last Saturday, when he teamed with Johnny Hardy (Johnny Elite/John Morrison) to battle Dragon Lee and Dralistico in a Tag Team Match after Jeff Hardy was pulled from the PPV due to his recent DUI arrest. Johnny Hardy would ultimately betray Matt Hardy, allowing Dragon Lee and Dralistico to win the match. After the match, Matt Hardy, Dragon Lee and Dralistico would be on the same page and fight Johnny off to end the show.

There were reports earlier in the week that Hardy was dealing with swelling in his knee following the match, but there is no word yet when exactly during the match the injury may have occurred, though it should be noted that Dralistico landed on top of Matt Hardy’s knees as well as on top of Dragon Lee’s knees when performing a moonsault towards the end of the match, so it’s possible that the injury took place then.

Matt Hardy took to his Twitter and revealed he is doing fine and that he is good to go, but he hasn’t made an appearance on AEW TV for two weeks now, likely due to his brother’s arrest and the indefinite suspension that AEW President and CEO Tony Khan placed on his brother. There’s no word yet on Hardy’s current plans in AEW while his brother is away, but he did reveal that he has spoken to Khan and they will come up with plans for him soon moving forward.
