Andrade El Idolo’s Contract With AEW To Expire Soon

Andrade El Idolo, who signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2021 after leaving WWE, is reportedly on his way out of AEW soon. Dave Meltzer mentioned on a recent Wrestling Observer Radio Program that Andrade El Idolo’s contract with AEW is set to expire soon unless time will be added to his contract since he missed quite a lot of dates due to an injury.

Meltzer also noted that Andrade wanted to return to CMLL, but he could also end up in WWE and if that happens, then he knows he won’t be able to go back to Arena Mexico, although he’s not made a decision yet about what he will do next.

Majority of his time in AEW, Andrade was reportedly unhappy and wanted to return to the WWE as he had a number of backstage issues as well. One particular incident in October of last year saw Andrade and Sammy Guuevara have an incident, where El Idolo allegedly sucker punched Guevara at a Dynamite event, which led to Andrade being sent home and unable to compete for several months as he underwent surgery for a torn pectoral muscle.

Only time will tell what the future holds for Andrade, but he did reference the WWE a number of times when he returned last June.
