Ever since its inception back in January 1st, 2019, All Elite Wrestling has really been making a name in the pro wrestling industry and they have been garnering global recognition and major successes all around the world and they have even been reaching worldwide audiences and markets. In just over a two year time period, AEW has become a global name and they can even be considered as a worthy competitor for the WWE.
One of the biggest factors in the company’s continued success is the caliber of talent they have been signing such as Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, Chris Jericho, Christian Cage, Malakai Black and Andrade El Idolo, just to name a few, but the promotion is reportedly also close in coming to terms on a deal with Daniel Bryan and CM Punk, which will reportedly be a huge game changer for AEW in pro wrestling.
Speaking of Andrade El Idolo, it was reported by Dave Meltzer on an episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that the former WWE Star would want to see his fiancée and current WWE Monday Night RAW Star Charlotte Flair, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair and his family join All Elite Wrestling and when he says family, Andrade El Idolo means ROH Stars Rush, Bestia 666 and Dragon Lee, himself, Charlotte and Ric Flair.
There is no word yet on if this is something that could happen down the line, but it’s interesting to note that in late 2019 both Andrade and Charlotte filed to trademark their monikers. Andrade filed to trademark the “La Sombra” and “El Idolo” names, while Charlotte filed to trademark the “Ashley Flair” and “The Queen of Wrestling” names. The trademark filings were done through Atty. Michael E. Dockins, who has helped several AEW Stars file their trademarks as well.
This is what Dave Meltzer said:
“I would expect that he’s gonna wind up in AEW.” “I don’t know that he’s going to AEW but I can’t imagine him not being in AEW, especially right now…Here’s the thing though, I don’t know what the terms of the release are because I don’t know that Vince wants him with AEW so quickly. I don’t know how long the non-compete is.”
“The big question [and] I know everyone’s gonna get pissed about this…Andrade has told people that he wants the whole family there. By the family it’s Rush, Bestia [666], Dragon Lee, him, Ashley, Ric, that’s what he wants. Ashley, I don’t know her. I certainly am not gonna speak for her [but] I sense that she wants to be in WWE, that it’s the big leagues to her but I don’t know. It would be a big perception get [for AEW] and I also don’t know when her contract ends. Believe me, I have been asked when her contract ends by many inside people, not in AEW, but reporters because what I just told you is something that everyone is talking about because everyone knows that story…I don’t expect that she is gonna leave but it is something every reporter worth their soul must have heard because I hear it all the time.”
