All Elite Wrestling held their Blood & Guts AEW Dynamite episode last June 29th, with the second-ever Blood & Guts Match main-eventing the show and the legendary voice of professional wrestling and AEW’s Jim Ross only calling the action during the Blood & Guts Match, which would take up the entire second hour of the broadcast. The AEW Senior Advisor would receive a huge reaction from the crowd and it was later announced that the wrestling legend will be calling the action during the entire AEW Rampage as well, which was taped immediately following that week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
The legendary voice of professional wrestling Jim Ross would then be calling the action of the entire episode of AEW Rampage and the entire second half of AEW Dynamite, but JR has reportedly now made his return to only commentating the entire episode of AEW Dynamite.
Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that the reason behind so many changes with AEW’s commentary team is AEW President and CEO Tony Khan deciding on a hunch who he thinks and feels should be the commentary team for that week’s AEW programming and that nothing is permanent and changes can happen whenever he feels like it.
This is what Dave Meltzer said:
“It’s all Tony Khan. Every one of these decisions is Tony Khan, and he changes the decision. I remember the first week when he did it (Ross only calling Dynamite’s second hour), I asked him, ‘Is this a new permanent thing?’, and it’s just like, ‘Well, it’s something we can do’. He’s not committed to anything as a permanent thing. I think it’s just kinda like what he feels is the deal as he feels…you kinda go by hunches a lot. Some weeks his hunch is that you do that. Some weeks the hunch is not to do it.”
