Backstage News On When Kota Ibushi Signed With AEW

The main event of last Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite episode saw The Golden Dragons Of Dojima (Paul Wight, “The Ocho” Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi) go up against The Don Callis Family’s Konosuke Takeshita, “The Machine” Brian Cage, Kyle Fletcher and Powerhouse Hobbs in an 8-Man Tag Like A Dragon Gaiden Street Fight and come out of the match with a huge win. Shortly after the match, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan took to his official Twitter (X) account and revealed that Ibushi is now officially a part of the company and is now All Elite.

Dave Meltzer noted on a recent Wrestling Observer Radio Program that Kota Ibushi was actually already signed with AEW a few months ago even before the announcement was made this past Wednesday and Ibushi revealed in an interview with HD Subs last October that he signed his AEW contract last July, but the company still allowed him to work with other promotions.

Ibushi made his AEW debut when he teamed with Kenny Omega, “Hangman” Adam Page and The Young Bucks to face Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, Konosuke Takeshita and PAC in a Blood & Guts Match on an episode of Dynamite.
