Backstage News On Why CM Punk Was Dominated By Jon Moxley

Last Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite episode saw CM Punk go up against Jon Moxley in a Title vs. Title Unification Match to crown the Undisputed AEW World Champion, with the match originally announced for the upcoming AEW All Out Event, but due to the altercation between CM Punk and Jon Moxley on Dynamite the previous week, the match was moved up to last Wednesday night.

Moxley ended up beating Punk in dominating fashion to become the Undisputed AEW World Champion and it has since been discussed numerous times the reason Punk was squashed by Moxley, but before the former AEW World Champion was defeated by Moxley, Punk went down and was clutching the foot he injured a few months ago.

Ryan Frederick revealed on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Board what Sean Ross Sapp first reported about the match several days back and that is that Punk is not injured and the plan is still for CM Punk and Jon Moxley to face each other in the main event of All Out. It was also reported that Jon Moxley didn’t like the original plans for the All Out PPV and pitched the idea and finish for AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday night. It’s believed that Moxley will lose to Punk at the All Out Event, but that has not been confirmed yet and it reportedly makes sense in Jon Moxley’s mind for him to get a dominating win on Punk if he will drop the title at All Out.

If this is true then this is the DUMBEST thing AEW has done. The finish is fine, the payback is fine, but to have Moxley cut such a HOT promo and then have hi lose his first defense squashes every benefit he would get from it all.
