It is no secret that former AEW World Champion CM Punk and former AEW World Trios Champions The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks) haven’t seen eye-to-eye since Punk made his return to pro wrestling and arrived in AEW. CM Punk and The Elite were in the middle of a massive brawl following AEW All Out this past September 5th and it led to Ace Steel being let go and CM Punk and The Elite being stripped of their titles and being suspended.
One-half of the current IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, one-half of FTR and a close friend of CM Punk, Dax Harwood, recently noted on his podcast that he would love to see CM Punk and The Elite work things out and find a way to make it work. This statement was posted on the Instagram account of “The ProWrestling” podcast and former AEW World Champion CM Punk commented, “Duh.”
There is no word yet on what Punk means by this, but it looks like he might be open to working things out and if things can be worked out and somehow this all can be turned into a storyline, then this is massive for the company’s television ratings as well as their future PPV buyrate. Punk is still under contract with AEW and AEW CEO Tony Khan refuses to say anything about Punk’s future with the company.
